The Split Stroke is a characteristic riff-like signature stroke in the Formby Lineage. The stroke is a rhythmical reorganisation of a regular 4/4 measure into two groups of 3 eighth notes and one group of 2 eighth notes. It is usually combined with fretting a chord note on the a string only on the first note of each group, making for a characteristic melody. In this example, the pattern exhibits the group of two in front and adds the two groups of three after. The sUI is fairly extended with a straight finger I compared to other players. T and I loose contact before sUI.
